Fishing Update
July 5 - July 9, 2010

Wow, what a fun week. The tides were good this week for halibut and the fishing was tremendous. The largest halibut for the week came in at 187 pounds. There were also many in the 50 to 80 pound range. It was nice to see people keeping larger fish and throwing the abundant “tennis racket” sized ones back.

The weather this last week was sunny in the beginning so the salmon dropped off a little as fish went deeper. On Monday the dock staff joined me in jumping from the largest pilings on the dock (video on FaceBook). After doing our part to scare the fish … and the weather changing … we were blessed with the return of salmon late the week. As I write this on Monday morning we have already seen silvers and pinks on the dock early this morning from galley staff. We also have caught our first pink off the dock as well. The salmon are in. We hope to see many of you soon.

~Mark
