Fishing Updates
July 26, 2009

The weather was the big story this week.  We saw the flag pointing north up Excursion Inlet most of the days and especially in the afternoons and evenings.  The winds limited where we could fish.

Halibut slowed a bit, mostly due to the strong winds.  The hot spots for the week were the log dump, green buoy and of course Mary’s Flat.  This week many of the guests started jigging for halibut.  It seemed most of the bigger halibut that have been caught were caught using jigs.

Silvers are still showing up, but about the same total number as last week.  The biggest silver this week was 19.5 lbs.  I was hoping this week would be a big increase for Silvers; maybe next week?  Pinks are starting to enter some streams.  They seem to be everywhere.  There were many catch of the week finalists, so I thought I would put the finalist on this fishing update page.
