Fishing
Updates
August 17 - 23
Each week I keep thinking that this is going to be the break through week, when the Silvers (Coho) come in to Icy Strait. Monday was great fishing for Silvers. It was what I would call a normal day for August. Tuesday dropped off considerably and Wednesday was not much better. Thursday was about like Monday, and Friday dropped off again. Halibut was ok for some and not so good for others. Double Anchor was a hot spot for last week. And log dump and grey cabin were the hot spots for Silvers. The weather was actually not bad this week, we did have some rain, but not as much as in the previous weeks. The Silvers this year are bigger than normal. We had several 18 lbs or bigger. Maybe this will be the year the 26 lb Alaska State Record is broken?
