Fishing Updates
July 27 - August 2

I think the halibut are getting smarter?  This past week there were several stories of a big fish stripping line and then it seemed that the big fish had wrapped the 80 lb test line around a rock, leaving the angler no choice but to pull and break the line.

The weather finally changed a bit, we had a few days of sun.  This was with out a doubt the wettest July I can remember.  Salmon are still proving to be hard to find.  I am guessing the cold summer has slowed their migration through Icy Strait.  The school of Pink Salmon finally arrived in the mouth of Duncan Creek.  After dinner fishing on the shoreline was a lot of fun.  We are hoping the strong tides next week will bring us more salmon from open ocean.
